First Tee Coach Seve Rivera, the Legacy Golf Performance Center’s Program

The First Tee provides young people with character building and life skills lessons using golf as the platform. Through The First Tee, young people discover how skills essential to success on a golf course can also help them flourish in life.​

The First Tee of Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created for the purpose of providing affordable access to golf and golf learning facilities for young people in Maricopa County from all walks of life particularly those who otherwise might not have an opportunity to play. It was designed to serve as a place for participants to learn valuable life skills and character lessons through creative activities and instructional programs that incorporate the fundamental teachings of golf.

The goal of The First Tee of Phoenix is to incorporate responsibility, courtesy, honesty and integrity all values inherent in the game of golf into the daily lives of those who participate. By using the fundamentals of golf, The First Tee of Phoenix equips youth with the skills needed to follow their dreams, advance academically and athletically, strengthen their social abilities and become productive members of their local community.

The First Tee of Phoenix is privileged to have the active support of The Thunderbirds, an extraordinary group of local community oriented individuals with a common focus to positively impact the lives of young people. Through the years, the proceeds of events staged by The Thunderbirds – most notably the Phoenix Open – have been spent to benefit numerous organizations and individuals.

First Tee Super Scramble_Legacy

Lead by First Tee Coach Seve Rivera, the Legacy Golf Performance Center’s Program:

  • Is just $60 to join for the YEAR!
  • Meets Fridays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 10:00am.
  • Clubs are provided, or students may bring their own.
  • Students learn golf and life skills that help them become happier and more motivated in everything they do!
  • Students have the opportunity to practice all day after the session for FREE!
  • Students will be able to participate in First Tee Sponsored programs throughout the nation.
  • Students will get to meet and make friends with other positive students with similar goals and backgrounds.
  • Students will have FUN! And so will parents!! We love to have our parents stick around to watch what we are working on!
